Writing a bUsiness plan is a waste of time!
Feb 17 2009, 6:49 AM EST
My experience is that writing a business plan distracts you from the fact that you need to think and visualize what your business is about. Not alone but with your people around you who create and run the business. Writing is terrible... time is passing... things change and what do you do with a business plan? Who reads it? Who REALLY reads it? Is it to get an investor on board? If not, stop writing... It doesnt take you anywhere... Start thinking about your business model... New strategic partners, new value, new customers, your distribution channels...

Dear Phil, thanx for your reply. Writing a business plan is a pain in the ass indeed. It costs a lot of time and in the meantime we could do other stuff. But most important: it distracts us from our core business, building a rapidly growing festival. But despite using things like Getharvest, a good Enterprise Resource Planning, doing some cutting edge marketing and most importantly booking some cool artists traditional institutions demand traditional stuff. At the moment we're talking with the local authorities on their participation on ZXZW. You could call them an investor. They demand a business plan. As a professional organization we try to deliver. In Dutch. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
